About

I’m a midwestern gal from Missouri who landed in Los Angeles in the 80’s (woohoo!).  After 33 years in LA, I threw my dog and my camera in the car and traveled Route 66 and America for 3 blissful months, then moved to Pebble Beach, California (yes, there are houses there) and happily explored the central California coast with Panda-Dog (he raps under the name P-doggie), an Australian Shepherd/Cattle Dog rescue who challenges me every day and makes me laugh every day. Who rescued who? That’s what I call a Turn-Left year.

AND NOW… I’ve done it again. I quit a perfectly respectable job in a beautiful coastal California town, and moved BACK TO MISSOURI to be closer to my family.  Now my challenges include failing health issues for my mom, and my dad’s journey through dementia.  And snow.  Lots of snow.

2021 UPDATE:  I’m retired!!!  Doing it before social security kicks in will be a challenge, but the peace of mind I’ve gained is priceless.  All my life I’ve tried to cram all my life into 2 days a week.  Because I’ve had some amazing jobs that I loved, I actually didn’t notice until just now — it just felt like life.  But whoever came up with the 5/2 work week equation is a sadist — the inequality is overwhelming.   Anyway, once Covid calms down, I’ll hit the road again.  Stay tuned.
